Welcome to my Blog! I am very optimistic that I will be able to post weekly once school starts, but I am also going to be realistic. As a first year teacher, who knows if I'll be able to open my eyes at the end of the day, much less blog! But my promise to you is to give it my best shot! I want this to be an account of the year for two reasons: 1) It's my FIRST YEAR AS A TEACHER
:D and 2) It will be a good resource for my second year as a teacher! :)
After signing my contract, I was ecstatic because also began to grow restless and anxious! What do I do now? Well, as it turns out, not much! The school is rewriting curriculum so I can't get my hands on that until it's ready and they are also rearranging classrooms so that will have to wait also! For now, I spend all day on Pinterest, filling up my SIX classroom-related boards! However, I did go from being the lonely new girl to getting in contact with two great ladies! One is the Kinder teacher I will be working alongside who has experience at the school and the other is another newbie, like me! I'm excited to have "met" (we've only chatted through FB) these ladies! :)
I also broke out my new Erin Condren Lesson Plan book and the school calendar and began filling in dates! Next I'm going to fill in the weeks' dates in the lesson plan pages! Then I'm gonna finally open "The First Days of School" book I've had for years! At some point, I have to organize all the things I've collected over...my whole life!... for my classroom and get it packed up and ready to move! Other than that, plans for the summer include subbing at the best preschool ever, helping out a friend with her three boys, and taking a couple of road trips!
